About Beyond Lazy

Hi, I’m Ben.

I’m a Melbourne-based systems analyst, running coach, husband, dad and lifelong tinkerer with productivity systems.

My professional work involves business software, service systems, process improvement and helping people get useful results from technology. Outside work, I balance family life, running, coaching and the usual collection of household jobs and administrative tasks that never seem to disappear.

That combination led to Beyond Lazy.

Why I created this site

Most productivity advice assumes that people want to spend hours building the perfect system.

I don’t.

I want systems that make life easier after they are established—not systems that become another hobby or obligation.

The same applies to AI and automation. I’m interested in what these tools can genuinely remove from our workload, not in using new technology simply because it exists.

Beyond Lazy is where I document practical ways to:

  • use AI in everyday life
  • reduce repetitive administrative work
  • organise information and commitments
  • create straightforward digital systems
  • choose useful software
  • avoid unnecessary subscriptions and complexity
  • spend less time managing technology

What you can expect

The articles on Beyond Lazy are written for ordinary users rather than developers or automation specialists.

Where possible, I:

  • personally test the tools and workflows
  • include specific instructions and examples
  • explain costs and limitations
  • identify privacy or security considerations
  • distinguish personal experience from external research
  • disclose affiliate and commercial relationships
  • update articles when important information changes

I don’t publish generic AI-generated articles simply to fill the website. AI may assist with research, structure, editing or administration, but the final work is reviewed and shaped by a human.

A note about my work

Beyond Lazy is an independent personal publishing project.

The views expressed here are my own and do not represent any current or former employer, client, professional association or other organisation with which I may be connected.
